California Fires

So Neal just got home from California fighting wildfires. He was gone for a week and it was really hard for me, but he had a great experience and learned a lot, so it was a good thing! I am very proud of him and glad that he is so smart and brave!
A tree got hit by lighting, crazy!

Storm rolling in and bringing smoke from the other fires around.

This is at the mudslide on the Island. Neal was there from Saturday to Monday. What a horrible thing to happen, I am so thankful that Neal is trained and able to do what he does, along with all the other fire fighters.

Heaven on Earth

We had a great cabin that we stayed in while in Tarbert. This picture was taken at about 10:00 pm. It doesn't really get very dark in Tarbert in the summer because of how high up it is.

Auntie Mary and Rhea's house: Lorne Villa. Everyone names their houses! I love that! Little Auntie Mary stands at the upper left hand window and waves to everyone passing by!

This is my Aunite Mary and her daughter Rhea. I have developed a little relationship with Auntie Mary through writing letters to her since my previous visit to this one, over the past 10 years. She is the sweetest woman there is! It was so wonderful to get to see her and spend some time with her. I'm so glad to have this picture to keep forever!

Tarbert is my favorite place in the world!

Waiting to get back in the car to go to Tarbert!

Inverary Castle...one of my cousins restored the roof. Pretty sweet!

Arundel Castle

Yep, he's serious! What a cute boy!!

Josh looking like a tough guy with his stick and stink eye!!!

It was such a great place! We had a blast!

Neal took this picture, isn't it great?

Yay for family photo op!!!

This is Arundel Castle. It is huge and so cool! We got to take a tour of it, but of course they don't let you take a camera in, so we just took a bunch outside!

Norway

This is my future home! Neal doesn't know that I am planning on him building an exact replica but he will!!

So we got to go to this great outdoor museam and see the houses of Norway through the ages! This house was my absolute favorite! I love the grass on the roof!!

These are summer houses on a little island just off of Oslo. They are only able to paint them white, yellow or red to keep with the tradition. I love them!!

So we recently got back from England and had so much fun! The main purpose of our trip was to see all of my family that live there. My mom is British and all her family are over there. Neal had only met my mom's sister and her family, so I was so excited for him to meet the rest of them! We had a wonderful time and developed our relationship with the family and hope to go back and visit many times!
On our trip we did so many fun things!! We had the opportunity to go to Norway for a day and a half, which was amazing! I would totally live there if it weren't so cold there all the time! After Norway we went to Scotland where I have some extended family up in the Highlands in a beautiful village called Tarbert. It is my Heaven on Earth! I was so content and just felt like any worry I had just went away. The rest of the trip we were in England. We stayed with my Auntie Anne and Uncle Pete in Little Hampton. We went on a few day trips to Arundle Castle, Brighton, and London.
Needless to say we had a blast and will always remember the fun things we did and the wonderful family we visited. We are so lucky to have had the chance to go and hope to go back soon!
